Weekly yoga pose - Bridge, Wheel pose, Upward bow or Urdhva Dhanurasana

As this week’s yoga pose, the Bridge or Wheel pose invites us to be flexible and open, both on an emotional and physical level.
This week's yoga pose actually has several names: Bridge, Wheel pose, Upward Bow, or Urdhva Dhanurasana. This pose stretches the entire chest and neck area and improves the mobility of the entire spine. At the same time, the pose also strengthens the arms, core, as well as the thigh and glute muscles.

Bridge, Wheel pose, Upward Bow, or Urdhva Dhanurasana

The Bridge pose has many different variations, ranging from simple to very advanced.
The safest and easiest way to start is with the Half Bridge pose:
1) While lying on the floor, bend your legs as much as you can to place your feet on the mat as close to your hips as possible.
2) Then, gradually start to lift your hips off the mat using your arms, as high as your body allows.
3) If you already feel the backbend, there is no need to go deeper.
4) If you feel there is more room, place your hands next to your head and first bring the crown of your head onto the mat. Stay here if necessary.
5) For the full Bridge pose, straighten your arms and legs as much as your body allows.
Listen to your body.
