Yoga pose of the week - Crow pose or Bakasana
This week's yoga pose is Crow, or Bakasana.
Bakasana is a fun arm balancing pose and is usually one of the first arm balances learned.
This pose offers variations for everyone from absolute beginners to advanced practitioners.
An easier variation is to keep your toes on the ground and try to gradually shift your body weight onto your hands. If you want a bigger challenge, take flight by straightening both arms and perhaps even lifting one leg!
The pose strengthens the arms, hands, wrists, and core muscles. Like all balancing poses, this one also develops both mental and physical balance.

You will encounter this yoga pose in, for example, vinyasa yoga and power yoga classes.
