Yoga pose of the week - Happy Baby Pose or Ananda Balasana
This week's yoga pose, Happy Baby pose or Ananda Balasana, is an excellent way to release tension in the pelvic girdle. This yoga posture provides a stretch for the hips, inner thighs, and hamstrings, and helps to release tension and pain in the lower back. It is also well-suited for expectant mothers in preparation for childbirth.
In this pose, we hold the feet with our hands, but it is perfectly fine if your hands do not reach your feet. In that case, you can use, for example, a sofa cushion or a yoga bolster under your hips (the photo shows an imagined variation).
If you feel you would like more detailed guidance, you are welcome to join our yoga classes.
