Yoga pose of the week - Downward-Facing Dog or Adho Mukha Svanasana

This week's yoga pose is the widely practiced yoga posture Downward-Facing Dog, or Adho Mukha Svanasana. This pose is used in almost all physically active yoga styles, i.e., yang-type styles such as Vinyasa yoga.
The posture strengthens the arms, wrists, and legs, opens the shoulder girdle, and stretches the back of the legs. The Downward-Facing Dog pose helps to improve posture and release tension in the back and shoulders.
When performing the pose, focus on lengthening your spine and keep your legs bent if necessary.

The yoga pose of the week may be the dog, but our Wednesday yoga classes take place in the company of cats :)

Cat yoga online classes are Vinyasa-based yoga classes, broadcast every Wednesday from the Cat Cafe Nurri and in the company of the local kitties.
